Les effets néfastes de la poussière d’amiante sur la santé retiennent l’attention générale des Québécois depuis des années. Mais il existe une autre poussière redoutable et meurtrière : la poussière de silice cristalline. Elle a été jusqu’à maintenant moins connue que sa rivale, la poussière d’amiante. Mais les choses sont en train de changer. Depuis juillet 2012, la CSST passe à la « tolérance zéro » pour la poussière de silice dans le plan d’action Établissements, comme c’est déjà le cas dans le plan d’action Construction depuis 2008...

Since its formation in 1988, Summum Granit of Saint Sebastian, Quebec, Canada, has placed an emphasis on craftsmanship, and it is continually updating its facility with the latest stoneworking technology

Beginning with five workers in Saint Sebastian, Quebec, Canada, in 1988, Lucille Paradis and Rock Bernier have developed Summum Granit into a model stoneworking facility.

The company processes material using the latest generation of technology, and maintaining quality production is a key to its overall strategy. When Summum Granit opened its doors, it had 4,000 square feet of plant and office space. It steadily grew over the years, adding a second shift in 1997 and undergoing several different plant expansions.
